Download and install Cortex — the anti-malware agent your company uses. It runs quietly in the background and protects against threats automatically.
Open this page on the device you need to protect. The instructions will automatically detect your operating system and show the right version to download.
Remove any existing antimalware software
Uninstall any third-party antivirus or security software (e.g. Norton, McAfee, Avast, Bitdefender) before continuing. Existing security agents can block or conflict with the Cortex installer.
Unzip the downloaded file
Locate SK_<id>.zip in your Downloads folder and double-click to unzip it. Then double-click Cortex XDR.pkg inside.
Run the installer
Click Continue, confirm the destination, then click Install. Enter your Mac password when prompted.
Follow the Configuration Wizard
Cortex opens a setup wizard automatically. Follow the on-screen steps to grant the required permissions.
You're protected
A Cortex icon will appear in your menu bar. Anti-malware is now active and running in the background.

Uninstall any third-party antivirus or security software (e.g. Norton, McAfee, Avast, Bitdefender) via Settings → Apps before continuing. Existing security agents can block or conflict with the Cortex installer.
Run the installer
Locate SK_<id>.msi in your Downloads folder and double-click to run it. Click Next on the welcome screen.
Authorise the install
When the User Account Control prompt appears, click Yes to allow the installation to proceed.
Complete the wizard
Follow the remaining wizard steps. Installation takes about 1–2 minutes. Restart your device when prompted.
You're protected
A Cortex icon will appear in your taskbar. Anti-malware is now active and running in the background.
Remove any existing antimalware software
Uninstall any existing security agents before continuing. For example: sudo apt remove <package-name> or sudo rpm -e <package-name>. Existing agents can block or conflict with the Cortex installer.
Save the installer
Locate SK_<id>.deb in your Downloads folder.
Install via terminal
Open a terminal and run:
sudo dpkg -i SK_<id>.deb
Restart your device
Reboot to complete the installation and activate the agent.
You're protected
Verify with dpkg -l | grep cortex-agent to confirm the agent is installed.
Open your install link
Tap the link or scan the QR code on your Android device to open the Cortex listing directly.
Copy your Distribution ID
You'll need to enter this when the app asks for your organisation identifier.
Install and activate
Tap Install, then open the app. Enter the Distribution ID above when prompted and tap to activate. Follow any on-screen prompts to grant permissions.
Run an initial scan
Tap Scan Now from the home screen to run the first device scan.
You're protected
The app will confirm your device is activated and connected to the Cortex XDR server.
Open your install link
Tap the link or scan the QR code on your iPhone/iPad to open the Cortex listing directly.
Install the app
Tap Get and authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
Copy your Distribution ID
You'll need to enter this when the app asks for your organisation identifier.
Follow the Permissions Wizard
Open the app — it launches a setup wizard automatically. Enter the Distribution ID above when prompted. Grant Notifications, and set Location to Always.
You're protected
The home screen will show Protected once all permissions are granted.
